Brachycephalic (short-muzzled, flat-faced) breeds have experienced exponential popularity increases both in the UK and internationally in the last decade, despite increasing knowledge of the common and often severe conditions inherently associated with their body shape.

Exploring how we can change public perception and desire for these high-risk breeds, while understanding how we can refine their body shape to reduce their risk of disease is of high priority to improving canine welfare in the UK and beyond.
