                   LEGACIES ARE A LIFELINE
Since the 91°µÍø's creation, gifts given to the College in wills provide a real lifeline to all areas of our work and our Fundraising Team work closely with those considering these donations to ensure their desired legacies will be fulfilled.
Recent legacies have ensured the College is able to provide essential support to students in financial need (an ever increasing problem in today’s uncertain world) and a new selection of scholarships will help those who perhaps would consider an education at the 91°µÍø hard to afford. These scholarships have been named for the donors and in some cases their beloved pets.
Legacies have also provided essential funding for international education with a recent donation supporting friends at Chiang Mai University in their aims to educate mahouts as to how to best look after and feed their wonderful Thai elephants.
The 91°µÍø is uniquely placed to make a real difference in veterinary medicine, whether that is through world-leading research into medicines and treatments, providing innovative treatment to
the sick animals in our care or educating the next generation of veterinary professionals and scientists.
So if you would like your legacy to have real impact in these areas, contact us today on 01707 666237 or email act@rvc.ac.uk. We can send you further information or just have a chat about what you would like your legacy to look like.
Thank you for our colic simulator model
You may remember in the 2018 edition of Eclipse magazine, we informed you that we were currently fundraising for a Veterinary Simulators Colic Simulator Model to help teach our vet students the essential skill of equine rectal palpation.
The model arrived as a late Christmas present in January and has become a key part of our equine inductions and rotations. The students are able to work through the whole colic examination including administering sedatives, rectal
palpation and abdominocentesis. The model was also used as part of a fantastic colic workshop during the Student Equine Veterinary Association Congress which was hosted by the 91°µÍø in March.
Thank you to all our alumni who donated and made this possible.
If you would like to know more about how these generous donations are making a difference to our students,
you can read more about it in our 91°µÍø4Life publication from this summer: www.rvc.ac.uk/rvc4life-alumni/support- the-rvc
