Mindful of recent events, we are developing an online resource for staff and students to use to report (anonymously or otherwise) racist incidents.Meanwhile, I wanted to remind you of the current reporting processes that are available to you.

Students who wish to report a racist incident involving themselves, another student(s) and/or staff should report to the Advice Centre. The Advice Centre can advise on available support and options and will liaise with the senior tutor team who will investigate the issue further using the existing 91°µÍø Misconduct procedure if that is what you wish to happen,

Any serious incident that indicates a student may have broken the 91°µÍø charter may be dealt with under our fitness to study/fitness to practice procedure which can be found here.

Any member of staff wishing to report an incident that has impacted on students should report to the Advice Centre as above. Staff wishing to report an incident that has impacted them or another member of staff should follow the procedures outlined in the Dignity at Work Policy. This Policy includes a range of options including reporting an incident anonymously, through to submitting a formal complaint leading to an investigation and potentially, disciplinary action against the accused. Any individual who wishes to informally report an incident is directed to one of our trained Dignity at Work Ambassadors in the first instance. The College also in partnership with ‘Care-First’ offers a counselling and advisory service to staff.  Counsellors are experienced in providing support to individuals who have been subject to racism.
