The Risk Analysis and Modelling Collaborating Centre of the uniquely combines the strengths of a higher education institution (91°µÍø) and a government agency (APHA). These two highly complementary UK-based institutions are both leaders in the provision of high quality education, research and consultancy and have a substantial track record of successful high-impact collaboration in the broad field of animal health and specifically in the application of risk analysis and modelling to animal and veterinary public health issues.
Risk analysts, modellers, epidemiologists and animal health economists of both hosting institutions participate in a large number of international activities and projects that help provide frameworks and baseline references to support international standards and guidelines for risk analysis and surveillance. Together the 91°µÍø and APHA promote and facilitate the use of risk analysis and modelling to inform the development of policies aimed at controlling disease, improving animal welfare and protecting public health.
