02 Blunt traumatic limb fractures
Limb fractures are a common injury following blunt trauma in dogs and cats and a rational approach to the management of these patients is crucial. In this episode I discuss this problem with who is a Lecturer in Small Animal Surgery at the QMHA and spends most of his time nowadays doing . Some of the things we talk about include how easy it is to detect a fracture, when is the best time to manipulate a fracture, open versus closed fractures, tips on radiography and the rational use of antimicrobials.
